Northern Cheyenne Language Consortium brings together Northern Cheyenne speakers, schools, and educators that are working to preserve the Northern Cheyenne language to ensure we can pass it on to future generations. Our work is grounded in collaboration, respect, and the understanding that language lives through people, relationships and daily use.

We support learners and teachers by developing language materials such as textbooks, dictionaries, flashcards, posters and classroom resources. We also help make language learning more accessible through digital tools, multimedia resources and hands on learning opportunities. Alongside this work, we organize teacher trainings and workshops that bring educators together to share knowledge, strengthen teaching practices, and support one another.

We also engage in outreach and education that helps the broader public better understand the Northern Cheyenne language and it’s importance. At the same time, we assist our community in finding financial support necessary to maintain healthy and stable community-driven language programs.

This work is ongoing, relational, and guided by the people who carry the language forward everyday.
